Our Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod has been addressing the issue of Domestic Violence for some time now. Former President A.L. Barry convened a Task Force on Women which, a few years ago, branched into a Task Force on Domestic Violence and Child Abuse.
At the Conference on Ministerial Care that I attended in September 2014 we heard a major presentation from that Task Force, unveiling a training program they have almost completed that will help our pastors, church workers, church leaders, and all of us understand many of the issues related to Domestic Violence, especially how we can minister to and walk alongside the victims / survivors of Domestic Violence.
These pages and sites are a beginning in gathering information and resources for all of us to use to address this important issue. I hope to keep adding to them as I become aware of additional material In the meantime please see what's here, because you might know someone who might need it.
And if that someone is you, you can get in touch with me for a private, confidential conversation via email at [email protected].
